On the first day of the trek we climbed from 2100m to 4500m (14,800ft), where we slept for the night. We wereonly a few hundred yards from a glacier at the base of this mountain. It is called Salkankay (sp?) and it�s peak is well over 6,000m. Durring the night we heard avalanches coming down from the top.
