Once I got to Panama I met up with my mom and stepdad and their Amigos tour group. I got to feel like a tourist for a few days, traveling around in a group of 20, staying in nice hotels, and having good meals. One of the things we did was to visit the Panama Canal. It was one of those things that the Engineering nerd inside me compelled me to do. Pretty impressive to see the ships move through. I guess the canal charges an average of $150,000 for a ship to cross the whole way through.
